I Got A Story by sir layzee has anyone payed attention to the sites that come out on the top right hand corner when you jump onto g style, some are sports jerseys and stuff like that, well on one of them it shows two dudes, and it says east side stories, about readings at amazon.com, well i just thought i would post that those two dudes there, are from the same hood i am from, those were my homies, those are my homies porky (left) and ponyboy (right), my story is that my boy ponyboy is no longer alive and has been dead for years. that photo was taken years ago by a book author who came to the hood and wrote a book on gangs in east los angeles. one of the coolest and easiest guys to get along with was ponyboy, as g's say, he was one of the good ones and didnt deserve to go how he did. i was with ponyboys best friend (my good homie casper), the night pony passed away- casper had just called ponyboy on the phone, ponyboy was a little buzzed (drunk) from partying and was telling casper he was going to the store to buy more beer, casper told him not to go anywhere and asked ponyboy to promise him he was gonna stay home. ponyboy promised to casper, so me and casper felt better because this night we were outside of our hood, where pony was. pony ended up going to the store, a corner gas station where ponyboy was shot and killed that same night or early next morning......... what really made it worse for us to lose him was it happened at about 12:15am new years day! we all had just celebrated new years only to find out later on that day that pony did end up going to get more beer and never made it back. all the stories i have of losing someone are sad man, but ponyboy sticks out the most i guess cuz of the time and day it happened, and especially knowing we had pretty much talked to him before he was killed. its a trip, i been jumping on g style alot lately and noticed that pic up there but never really payed attention to it until tonight, when i realized who they were it just brought it all back man. dam!!! "fallen soldiers, gone but never forgotten" and thats not just for those in the street life. |
