Rivera...i'm 22 and i just retired this year, my husband is a retired Latin King and he's doin time in tha state prison down here in Texas. I can relate to what u were sayin about being blinded...don't all that gang bangin shit look glorious at first? I always wanted to be a banger, since i was a little kid, ya know? And my husband had been bangin since he was 12 and caught his first case when he was like 14..he been in and out of prison for tha last 10 years...it took us both a while to realize we were being used. We were from different sets, but under tha same nation. Both of us were known in our sets for veing down 4 anything, u feel me? So when somethin came up that no one really wanted to do, we were tha ones who got assigned. And I loved it, I was earning new stripes liek every week and went from foot soilder to Lieutenant rank in less than a year..I was movin tha coke and tha bricks in from Houston..doin kickdoors, jumpin anyone and everyone who even looked at my boys tha wrong way...if we were out and somebody started bustin..i was tha first to bust back, i would've done anything for my set or my man's set as we were all fam. But u know, i never got that respect i "earned" . When i got locked up i was on my own..and none of my man's brothers were there for him either. The last case i caught was a serious one, back in May..and it's still pending...so I pretty much left tha hood. Things had gotten real bad and real dangerous. I had my own beef with my boys, plus i was ridin with my man on his beef...we both got locked up and then i was like i can't do this anymore...Like u were sayin some people looked at me bad, like i was weak or i was a traitor. Right now there's ahit out for me for dis-loyalty...but I'm so sure i'm doin tha right thing...there is much more to life than slangin and set-trippen..I want u to hit me up on my e-mail, if u ever need to talk or want some advice. i loved my family my whole life..i have been a really peaceful man.my life changed when i met a kid named gustavo.his cousins and family were bangers,so he eventually got in it too...i was the first to ask what was his crew about..he answered,and i told him.."i wanna get in"..i never realized,the drama,the pain,the anxiety,everything i would get from this choice.i was blind,a mad dog looking for respect and fear,i wanted to be strong..in little time this leader called grizzly,asked me to slang..i said weed ok...and then he said...can u slang coke?i was surprised...i noticed since there,he wasnt a true friend.sure,they would back me up...in less than 10 mins they there..but they were using me.my friend gustavo,he was a real friend,i noticed,we both were blinded.no one has guts to tell their friends "were being used" because that could result in a chek[jumped for a certain time by your own set when doing something wrong],or deah itself.that happened less than a year ago..crazy huh? yeah im young,im 14..but i basically got no respect no more,the leaders dont like me,and they say im a traider and a pussy,after i got a whole set of friends into it..i remember jumping my friends in...they were gustavo's too..we were a group...innocent,now...they are a group,full of blind hate.. |
