Inside A Happy Home

The inside of a happy home
Where words aren’t spoken and lies are told
Where memories of better times, fill the walls and peoples minds
Painting a perfect picture for all the world to see
A picture that is purely all make believe
Because inside the walls of this happy home
Are tear filled eyes, and words said with scorn
Theres broken glass where a mirror broke
When mommy was pushed into the wall
Then theres a picture upon the wall
Of a happy family, in a happy home
White picket fence, and green grass grows
But its what lies inside that nobody knows
The screaming and the shouting
Starting the day off with name calling
You don’t cook good enough, or clean enough
The kids don’t listen, because you don’t make them
Then the phone rings, and the world stops
Who the hell is calling u, I didn’t say that u could talk
The answering machine picks up
For we are far to busy to talk
“ You have reached the happy home, sorry we can’t come to the phone”
As the message plays, the phone hits the wall,
while another fist hits the other side
the kids run and hide
all to familiar with Daddy’s ways
hes just had a bad day, they say
but these bad days, go on and on
and mommy cries more and more
she tucks us in and we hug her tight
we think she needs it, after her and daddys fight
Tomorrow will be better, baby’s get some sleep
Then she walks down the hallway
To hell, where he sleeps
Tears run down her face
As she remembers a better time and place
She looks up on the wall, sees jesus lookin down
How can this happen to them
They live in such a happy home
But its whats inside this happy home
The things that nobody knows
That makes her cry even more!

always
