Krazy: A Gang Poem
Krazy by The Kryz
Krazy,
is crawlin,
through the streets,
Brawlin,
with any kid,
who thinks that he got a problem,
ive met that kid,
but my homies shot him,
wronged him,
when i could have taught him,
bout hittin rock bottom,
when ya murder an robbin,
krazy,
is killin,
livin with villains,
dying as children,
but we think that we chillin,
but this aint livin.
Krazy,
is knowing,
going as the winds blowin,
kicking beats an flowing,
watchin ya boy die,
an let go him.

ON THE FRONT LINES: A battle cry to save kids
Investigative Voice
Community activist Greland Lowery got in trouble as a teen, stealing cars and launching a career of crime that culminated in a 12-year stint in federal prison.
But as he addressed a panel of criminal justice officials assembled at Union Baptist Church in Baltimore Tuesday night to discuss juvenile crime, he made an impassioned plea.
“You’re not going to win this war without me,” he warned.
One after another, leaders of small community-based organizations — many of them ex-offenders themselves — told the panelists and audience members: Forget the endless discussions, the perpetual studies, and the rhetoric from bureaucrats and politicians. We’re out here in the trenches and we know what needs to be done, they said; just give us the financial support to carry out our work.
Gang Member’s Guide To Joy In Humility
Self esteem. Self improvement. Self help. Self love. Self actualization. Self pride. It’s all self delusion. Preaching from Philippians 2:1-11 Pastor Mark Driscoll teaches how Jesus is for us the most happy person who has ever lived because, in part, He was the most humble.

Another Lost Cause
My people are hurting
children turned to monsters,
Northern Cali livin where 9 year old kids curse like mobsters.
Politicians cant figure out the reason
for all the drugs violence and hate,
but I alone know the answer to why all that seems their fate.
Ask them about their childhhood
and theyll become distant and blank,
some clutch 9’s with their lil hands
while watching their young mothers snort up crank.
Ask the lil cholas
why they settle for men who use their fists
and youll hear a story of a baby raped, at the tender age of six.
Little boys protecting their mothers from drunk inked up men
lil girls watching their older brothers sent off to the pin
Damnt dont yall see, it starts at home
broken and battred women, feeling safe by a cholos chrome.
Then having kids to young,
resenting their lost youth
the mothers take off
leavin the oldest kid to raise the other two.
I know a girl whos mother sold her tiny body
for a bit of cheap dope
to the same men who slept with her
and lived all in her home.
It sickens me, the rate that dehumanization is quickening
upper class fight over allowance
always havin but steady bickering.
While a kid across town
is lettin the homies pull a train
cuz she needs protection from them in this wicked terrain.
Wheres the parents? Some cant be found. Out tryin to ease the pain
that their parents handed down.
The cycle has to be broken
someone has to care
for these orphaned ghetto children
thinking normality is despair.
