One of our own Brother Doulos has his book published on Amazon, check it out…
Doulos was born Kifani Thompson to a Married African American couple in 1975. His father abandoned His mother at the age of two and set off a cycle of events that have framed his life. Being born in the “Jungle Projects” of Los Angeles California; Doulos had better odds for death then of success. Growing up in the Gang, Crime, and Drug infested streets of Los Angeles Doulos had one goal; make it out alive with all his faculties’ intact. Doulos accomplished escaping the hood but no matter how far he got he could never forget those he left behind. As the years past and the effects of the Hood began to destroy lives close to Doulos he decided to take action. Doulos is a Music Artist, and Speaker, Urban Missionary, Youth Counselor, and Gang Outreach Counselor. Doulos founded the Urban Missionary Project (UMP) while on Tour in March 2007. The UMP goal is to save this dying generation through entertainment and media outlets. Doulos wholeheartedly believes that the gospel of Jesus Christ lived out is what is missing in; people, families, communities, churches, America, and the World. Doulos now begins His next journey as an Author. Doulos has always been a writer he wrote his first song at nine years old. Doulos has a lot to share, Hood years are like dog years; which gives Doulos wisdom 3 times his age. With each outreach and each story told; it was apparent a book had to be penned. How did Doulos survive one of the most notorious Gang Neighborhoods in Los Angeles California? How did he do it without joining a gang, being arrested, or selling drugs? How did he rise above all these things to go back and be a ray of light in these communities? The life saving and Changing message of Jesus Christ is how; and is still the only sure remedy for the ills of life. Doulos is now married to a wonderful wife of Thirteen years and has 4 wonderful children. He currently resides in Bakersfield California. Doulos has dedicated his life to effecting change in Urban communities and spends most of his free time reaching out to the forgotten ones; the undesirables that the church has casted aside. Doulos describes his passion best on a song from his 3rd Christian rap album titled “The Kingdom Strikes Back”; “I’ve seen enough death, seen enough violence, that something inside me just can’t stay silent!”
“For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed-(Luke 9:26).” In today’s society the term Christian is used very lightly. There are many titles given to Christians; devout, carnal, lukewarm, and Sunday Christians. All may have indeed professed Christ, but not all poses Him. Biblically speaking, a Christian is either ashamed or not ashamed. This book will take you through the journey from a profession to passionate unabated relationship with Jesus. It will give you practical, real life example of how God transformed Doulos’ life from ashamed to unashamed. Are you stuck in your old life, dying to truly live the Christian life? Do you desire to more passionately witness Christ? Is there is more to Christianity than you are experiencing? Not Ashamed will answer these Questions and and More!
